Wastewater Department
Also called the sewer department, the wastewater department consists of the collection system. The collection system is also known as the sanitary sewer system. The sanitary sewer system collects wastewater from the kitchens and bathrooms in all the buildings in the city and carries it to Metro Waste Water. Approximately six miles of sewer lines accept wastewater from 201 sewer taps servicing the city. This system carries about one million gallons of sewage per day to Metro Wastewater.
