Glendale is organized as a council-manager form of government. The Mayor and City Council appoint a city manager. This council-manager form of government combines the strong, political leadership of elected officials, to make policies and laws that sustain and enhance the quality of life in Glendale, with the managerial expertise of a city manager administrator, who carries out the policies and oversees the daily operation of the City.
Glendale's City Manager has the primary responsibility of coordinating the activities of all City departments, translating City Council policy into action programs, and providing timely public information.
A Commitment to Planning & Quality
Glendale's distinctive quality of life is no accident. It is the result of a commitment to planning and quality that has been the foundation of the City's governance since 2000. Glendale has become an ideal choice for businesses and for residents - not only for its location, but, more importantly, for the proud spirit that has been nurtured by the community leaders.
